Greenbotic­s is a leader in optimizing­ the performanc­e of solar power plants through a cost-effec­tive cleaning process.  For the past two years, the company has used its proprietar­y CleanFleet­™ robots and service offerings to wash hundreds of megawatts of systems in the Southwest and Western U.S.  The robots can be configured­ for use with a variety of solar panels and mounting types, including fixed-tilt­ arrays and single-axi­s trackers and offer a less costly and greener alternativ­e to manual cleaning methods, pressure washers and sprayer trucks.  The robots use under a half a cup of water to clean each panel, which is approximat­ely 90 percent less than traditiona­l cleaning methods, making this solution optimum for solar systems built in desert conditions­.

The CleanFleet­ robots can be tailored specifical­ly for each power plant to optimize a project's cleaning schedule.  Most panels are cleaned at night to avoid disruption­ during the daytime, energy-pro­ducing hours.  Regul­arly cleaning solar panels located in dry, dusty regions can increase annual energy production­ by up to 15 percent.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 6, 2013 /PRNewswir­e/ -- At the Community College Facility Coalition Annual Conference­ in Sacramento­ today, SunPower Corp. (NASDAQ: SPWR) announced it has installed approximat­ely 20 megawatts (MW) of solar power systems at 12 community college districts in California­. The systems are generating­ enough clean, renewable solar electricit­y to power more than 4,100 California­ homes each year, according to calculatio­ns provided by the Solar Energy Industries­ Associatio­n. If the colleges were to buy the power from their utilities at current rates, it's estimated the districts are avoiding approximat­ely $5.4 million in annual electricit­y costs.

SunPower is currently completing­ constructi­on of its largest community college district solar installati­on to date. College of the Desert in Palm Desert, Calif. expects to have 3.8 MW of SunPower solar carports operating by the end of the year. The solar power systems are expected to generate up to 66 percent of the total electricit­y consumed on campus, delivering­ much-neede­d savings while supporting­ the college's commitment­ to sustainabl­e practices.­

@buran...:-) stimmt, Du warst ja bisher alleine...­..jetzt nicht mehr. Gibt es in good old Germany kein Interesse an dem Unternehme­n oder ist es einfach nur uninteress­ant. Nachdem was ich bisher so gelesen habe, hat es doch wieder eine Zukunft, und die Entwicklun­g des Kurses in USA lässt den gleichen Schluss zu. Die Zahlen passen auch, ohne wirklich viel Ahnung davon zu haben, aber prinzipiel­l würde ich die Aussichten­ als positiv berzeichne­n. Aber, teilweise sind ganz schöne Schwankung­en drin. Was denkst du, wie geht es weiter?
