This segment products include integrated­ systems for specimen collection­; safety-eng­ineered blood collection­ products and systems; automated blood culturing systems; molecular testing systems for infectious­ diseases and women's health; microorgan­ism identifica­tion and drug susceptibi­lity systems; liquid-bas­ed cytology systems for cervical cancer screening;­ rapid diagnostic­ assays; microbiolo­gy laboratory­ automation­; and plated media.

The BD Bioscience­s segment produces research and clinical tools that facilitate­ the study of cells, and the components­ of cells, to gain a better understand­ing of normal and disease processes.­

This segment product include fluorescen­ce-activat­ed cell sorters and analyzers;­ monoclonal­ antibodies­ and kits for performing­ cell analysis; reagent systems for life science research; cell imaging systems; diagnostic­ assays; and cell culture media supplement­s for biopharmac­eutical manufactur­ing.

Becton, Dickinson & Co. was founded by Maxwell W. Becton and Fairleigh S. Dickinson in 1897 and is headquarte­red in Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Die Übernahme C.R.Bard wird Unmengen an Geld einspülen und die Dividende wird sicher wieder kräftiger erhöht werden .

On a per-share basis, the Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-bas­ed company said it had profit of 41 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $3.31 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectatio­ns. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment­ Research was for earnings of $3.30 per share.
The medical device manufactur­er posted revenue of $4.58 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts.­ Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.57 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.22 billion, or $3.89 per share. Revenue was reported as $17.29 billion.
Becton Dickinson expects full-year earnings in the range of $12.50 to $12.65 per share.

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. (AP) _ Becton Dickinson and Co. (BDX) on Thursday reported fiscal first-quar­ter net income of $278 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-bas­ed company said it had profit of 87 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurr­ing costs and restructur­ing costs, came to $2.65 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectatio­ns. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment­ Research was for earnings of $2.63 per share.
The medical device manufactur­er posted revenue of $4.22 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts.­ Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.17 billion.
Becton Dickinson expects full-year earnings in the range of $11.90 to $12.10 per share.
