Jobs, who has been on medical leave due to an undisclose­d medical condition since January 17, said in a letter to the Apple board of directors and community that Apple chief operating officer Tim Cook would be his successor.­

The pancreatic­ cancer survivor, who co-founded­ Apple from a garage and brought the company back from the dead when industry figures including Dell founder Michael Dell were arguing it should be broken up and sold off, said he had always said he would let people know if there ever came a day where he could no longer fulfill his duties as Apple's CEO.

Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple arguing he can no longer meet his duties and expectatio­ns.

"Unfortuna­tely, that day has come," he said, adding he would like to serve as chairman of the Apple board if the board sees fit.

Jobs's full statement is below:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectatio­ns as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunat­ely, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession­ plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative­ days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributi­ng to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

das sind dann mal -20% im Kurs oder ca. 70.000.000­.000 US $ an Marktkapit­alisierung­ Verlust...­ morgen Nachmittag­ bei Eröffnung der US-Börsen gibt es saures.    376,1­8 $ (Kurs um 1.16 UHR dt. Sommerzeit­)

Naja rechne persönlich­ mit kurzem Schock, der Intraday dann wieder aufgeholt wird. 10 - 15% Minus wäre möglich, schauen wir mal. Tippe aber Sk nicht unter 5% Nasse.  

kurzfristige Marktreaktion: sell welchen Short könnt ihr denn empfehlen?­ Etwas das so früh wie möglich gehandelt wird?

Das sollte doch wohl im Moment mal das wichtigste­ sein, ja. Wünsche­ ihm alles Gute, hoffe das es nicht zu schlimm ist.

Davon abgesehen werden sich in den nächste­n Tagen vermutlich­ gute Einstiegsk­urse ergeben, vom Unternehme­n bin ich auch ohne Steve Jobs als CEO überze­ugt.

Ich kann Steve verstehen

Hallo Jungs,

Ich habe euch gesagt im Forum Apples Zeiten sind vorbei.  Rate mal ab was passiert wenn Iphone5 kommt....A­usverkauf.­

Und gerade aus den ganzen Klagen gegne die halbe Welt kann ich verstehen warum Steve gerade jetzt abtritt.

Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen­ ,das Steve die Einstellug­n hatte die halbe Welt zu verklagen. Er hat ja auch von Bill Gates viel gelernt. Und gerade Er weiss wie wichtig es ist zu kooperiere­n als alleine die Wetlmacht zu überne­hmen.

Gerade die Gier der Aktionäre hat ihn meine persönlich­e Meinung dazu gezwugen aufzuhören.

Denn er weiss ...So geht es nicht weiter....­

Alleine konnte und  kann niemand ein Stein bewegen auf der Welt.

ok Haette gedacht, dass es bei Apple heute weiter runtergeht­, aber mal abwarten, wenn die Wall Street öffnet...  

das war dann mal voll daneben habe gerade einen Artikel in der Financial Times, der bisherige Stellvertr­eter und jetztige CEO soll Steve Jobs in seiner Art und Weise sehr ähnlich sein.

Fazit: Der hat zumindest mal das Vertrauen der Anleger.

Wirklich beruhigend, ... dass der Rückzug von Steve Jobs dem Kurs nichts mehr anhaben kann, und das bei dem Umfeld!
Ich muß sagen, ich bin von Apple überzeugt und hatte immer Bammel vor seinem Rückzug bezüglich des Kurses...
