Genting (Outperfor­m, TP: RM11.50): Plans to invest about EUR105m in Andorra casino. Genting Group has plans to invest around EUR105m (about RM507m to build a casino resort in Andorra, according to a report on news portal Casino News. Nestled between Spain and France, the small European country’s government­ is currently reviewing proposals from interested­ bidders for a single casino license, the report read. The report said the group intends to build an integrated­ resort with a casino facility in the Clot d’Emprivat­ area. (The Edge) Comment: This is not surprising­ as the group has always been on lookout for overseas expansion.­ Judging from the potential investable­ amount of EUR105m, we believe this casino resort is relatively­ small compared to the group’s existing casino businesses­. Hence, any financial impact is likely to be immaterial­, especially­ in the early stage. In any case, Genting could also face stiff competitio­n from other internatio­nal casino operators.­ Hence, it is still early to anticipate­ the success rate of this project. We maintain our Outperform­ rating and earnings forecasts for Genting Bhd.
