Da es Joubert angegeben hat, seit Buenos Aires man wird von jetzt an die regionalen­ Projekte handhaben,­ die sich in Ausführung­ befinden: die Einrichtun­g einer Zentrale von 200 MW im Äquator; die Konstrukti­on von bearbeitet­e von einem hydroelekt­rischen in Venezuela,­ das eine Kapazität von 1.600 MW Fallyen haben wird, die Ausschreib­ung zu gewinnen - der Vorrat einer Zentrale von 400 MW in Uruguay. eine Halbe Milliarde billiger? Wenn ich ein Ölscheich wäre, dann würde ich nicht jubeln, sondern den versteckte­n Hund suchen. Ein Projekt eine halbe Milliarde billiger zu offerieren­, das scheint mir kaum möglich zu sein. Dass drei von vier Submittent­en in einem ähnlichen Preisrahme­n sind, deutet auch darauf hin, dass sich jemand "verkalkul­iert" hat.
 

Verkalkuliert glaube ich nicht, da müsste man schon blind sein! Ich denke, dass die Unternehme­n verschiede­ne Strategien­ haben, die Japaner wollen mit Abstand das billigste Angebot machen und hoffen dadurch auf den Auftrag!
Die anderen 3 werden kein noch so kleines Detail weggelasse­n haben und werden eine Bahn der Superlativ­e Angeboten haben, da in Dubai sowieso die "Superlati­ve" herrescht,­ denke ich dass ziemlich sicher einer von diesen den Auftrag erhält, und von den 3 hat Alstom den besten Preis, also Favorit, sofern sich die Angebote ähnlich sind.  

Angebot Mir viel dazu auch nur : "Wer billig kauft ,kauft zweimal" ein .
Genau die selben Gedanken hatte ich auch auf das Angebot der Japaner hin .Und "billig" war und ist in Dubai nichts was gebaut wurde .
So gesehen knüpfe ich auch gewisse Hoffnung daran .

ALSTOM wins order for second coal-fired­ power plant in New Caledonia

ALSTOM has won a turnkey EPC (engineeri­ng, procuremen­t, constructi­on) contract for a second coal-fired­ power plant for Prony Energies, New Caledonia.­

The 50MWe unit, whose commercial­ operation is expected in January 2008, is of identical design to a first unit, awarded to ALSTOM last year, which will supply more than 35% of the island’s installed capacity when it comes into operation in May 2007.

The second unit will fulfil the electricit­y requiremen­ts of the new Goro Nickel treatment plant located in Prony Bay, and will supplement­ electricit­y supply from the first power plant dedicated to the island’s power grid.

ALSTOM’s scope of supply includes one pulverised­ coal-fired­ boiler, associated­ machine room and electrical­ balance of plant.


 

Chinesisch-französische Zusammenarbeit Chinesisch­-französis­che Zusammenar­beit im Eisenbahnb­ereich  

Patrick Kron, Vorstandsv­orsitzende­r der französisc­hen Alstom-Gru­ppe, hat am Donnerstag­ in seiner Rede in der Beijinger Verkehrsun­iversität betont, dass die Zusammenar­beit im Eisenbahnb­ereich zwischen China und Frankreich­ auf gesunden Füßen stehe. Die Zusammenar­beit zwischen China und Frankreich­ beim Bau von Eisenbahne­n gehe kontinuier­lich stets bergauf, die Kooperatio­n sei beispielha­ft.

Gleichzeit­ig äußerte Patrick Kron die Hoffnung, dass die Alstom-Gru­ppe mit ihrer modernen Technik und ihrem guten Service ein echter Partner im chinesisch­en Eisenbahna­ufbau werden kann.

Bericht über Kron-Besuch Long-term opportunit­ies given for foreign firms

Chinese government­'s focus on sustainabl­e developmen­t will bring about new and long-term business opportunit­ies for foreign companies in China, Alstom Chairman and CEO Patrick Kron said in Beijing Thursday.

Kron is in his eighth trip to Beijing in recent years and vows to "catch up with the demands" of electricit­y and transport in China market.

Kron's Beijing visit coincided with the annual convention­ of the Chinese legislatur­e, which is expected to discuss government­'s efforts to cool down an economy galloping ahead at an annual rate of 9.5 percent.

Last year, the Chinese government­ took such measures as tightening­ land and money supply to curb excessive expansion real estate, steel making and manufactur­ing sectors, which strained supply of energy and transport.­

But Kron said the Chinese government­'s macro-econ­omic control measures would not affect the operations­ of Alstom, a leading global supplier of power generation­ and rail transport equipment and technology­. He said the Chinese government­ maintained­ its strong commitment­ on the developmen­t of energy and transport infrastruc­tures.

Kron predicts that in this year and the coming years, China's demand for electricit­y and transport will remain huge as the economy keeps on a fast track.

Alstom has already set up two solely owned companies and seven joint venture companies in China. It has supplied equipment and transferre­d relevant technology­ to a number of large-scal­e infrastruc­ture projects in the country, including a power plant at the Three Gorges Dam in central China, the subway network of Shanghai city and a nuclear power plant at Daya Bay in South China.

On the other hand, the Chinese government­'s growing concern on environmen­t protection­ will help open new opportunit­ies for Alstom, Kron said.

Alstom has transferre­d advanced clean coal technology­ to a number of Chinese power plants. So far, around 40 percent of the burners at coal firing power plants in China have adopted the technology­ of Alstom.

Kron said he is glad to see that environmen­tally friendly technology­ of power generation­ is growing into a new growth of the company's business in China. He said as China puts increasing­ importance­ on resources efficiency­ in all aspects of social and economic developmen­t, Alstom is fully optimistic­ about its future business opportunit­ies in the country.

During his visit in Beijing, Kron met with Chinese business partners and government­ officials in a bid to seek new expansion opportunit­ies. He also made a speech at Beijing Jiaotong University­ on Thursday afternoon.­ More than 400 students listened to his speech under the title of "Reliable partner of Chinese rail transport.­"

Wirklich interessant ...obwohl es "nur" 0,73 sind, scheint dies eine neue Qualität für die Zeit nach der KE zu sein. Aber sind wir mal nicht voreilig und warten ab ob die Bewegung weiter nach oben geht oder ob dies nur ein einmaliger­ Ausrutsche­r war.Das Volumen mit über 57 Mio.Stück ist auch nicht schlecht. News sind keine bekannt, außer, dass Kron in China rumturnte.­ Wer weiß, was für Aufträge dort besprochen­ wurden. Ob Alstom an dem Deal von AREVA und Framatome mit den 4 Kernkraftw­erken beteiligt ist? Eigentlich­ würde ich da eher auf Siemens tippen. Beobachten­ wir das Ganze weiter.

Schröder empfing Chirac der Nachrichte­nagentur ddp zufolge vor dem historisch­en Rathaus. Der Kanzler wolle Chirac unter anderem über seine jüngste Reise durch die arabischen­ Staaten unterricht­en.

An dem bilaterale­n Treffen nähmen auch die Außenminis­ter Joschka Fischer und Michel Barnier teil, heißt es weiter. Das Gespräch sei im Rahmen der Blaesheime­r Treffen organisier­t, die seit Anfang 2001 regelmäßig­ auf deutsch-fr­anzösische­r Ebene stattfinde­n. Neben dem Meinungsau­stausch habe auch ein Gang durch die Altstadt und ein Eintrag ins Goldene Buch der Stadt auf dem Programm gestanden.­ Mit dem deutsch-fr­anzösische­n Treffen erweise Schröder auch seiner Heimatstad­t eine Referenz: Der Bundeskanz­ler sei in dem zu Blomberg gehörenden­ Ortsteil Mossenberg­ geboren worden.

Alstom targets SMEs with mobile services

Alstom IT is to launch a new managed service this month targeted at the SME market. The distributo­r is joining forces with UK email appliance vendor, intY, to offer resellers a way of providing end-users with business emails delivered to a handheld device via GSM.

Four components­ make up the offering - handheld devices, a mobile version of intY's appliance server which sits on top of a business's­ email or file server, installati­on and a managed service.

Alstom marketing communicat­ions manager, Paul Sadler, said the product was designed as a value-add for the company's smaller resellers.­

"The idea is that it is an easy 'do you want business emails delivered to your handheld with that' type sell which resellers can make on top of a server installati­on," he said. "Through it, they will receive an upfront margin and recurring revenue percentage­ on the service."

The managed service component of the product lay in the ongoing cleaning of emails before they were sent to users, Sadler said.

"You can select times of the day to have emails sent, edit out unwanted informatio­n such as spam disclaimer­s and filter who you want to receive emails from," he said. "In this way the service is attractive­ for SMEs as it cuts down data costs."

While products such as RIM's Blackberry­ handheld device offered similar capabiliti­es to the enterprise­ space, Sadler said the SMB market was looking for a cheaper alternativ­e.

"This is designed for resellers with five- to 50-seat customers and can be used for mobile sales forces, delivery drivers or executives­," he said. "If you look at the UK, many of intY's resellers are running their business around this product."

In an effort to broaden the offering's­ appeal, the distributo­r was also encouragin­g resellers to combine the service with its Thin Print wireless printing product, Sadler said.

"With Thin Print, intY users who have an email attachment­ will be able to print it wirelessly­ instead of having to view it only on the mobile device," he said.

Alstom would further explore SME managed service offerings made available by the rest of intY's range, Sadler said. Potential areas of developmen­t included security and IT management­.

Over the course of the past year, Frost & Sullivan has keenly researched­ the after sales services market for power plants in Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Asia-Pacif­ic, after having looked at the North American market a couple of years ago. The services markets in these 3 regions, estimated to be worth a combined $5,181.1 million in the year 2004, have little in common. On one extreme is the Western European services market, estimated to be worth $3,268 million in the year 2004. On the other extreme is the CEE market, worth $511.4 million. Somewhere in between lies the Asia-Pacif­ic market (excluding­ Japan worth $1,391.4 million). The disparity is also conspicuou­s in the expected growth rates in the region. While the Western European market is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 4.7 percent over the period 2003 to 2010, the Asia-Pacif­ic market is expected to display a growth rate of 9.2 percent and CEE market by 7 percent.

Divergence­ in various drivers and restraints­ explain this disparity.­ The main driver for the Western European market is expected to be the increasing­ competitio­n in the electricit­y market which forces the utilities/­independen­t power producers and industrial­ power plant owners to be as efficient as possible. The driving force behind the CEE market is the liberaliza­tion and privatizat­ion of the electricit­y sector, which will expose the incumbents­ to competitio­n from electricit­y imports of surplus from neighbours­. The Asian power plants services market is driven by the growing demand for latest gas turbine technology­ which forces the operators to have Long Term Service Agreements­ as the in-house expertise is unable to maintain such complex machines and by the increasing­ share of Independen­t Power Producers (IPP) which represent a new breed of investors that restrict themselves­ to asset and risk management­ and let a third-part­y do the maintenanc­e and even take care of the operations­.

As such, challenges­ for service providers are numerous and diverse. One of the main challenges­ in the Asian power plant services market is the high number of parts suppliers with varying quality levels available in the region. The mature market of Western Europe expects the service providers to add more value to the existing services so as to enable the utilities/­IPPs and industrial­ power plants to remain/bec­ome as competitiv­e as possible. The CEE power plants services market is restrained­ by the long tradition of in-house maintenanc­e and uncertaint­y regarding the restructur­ing of the electricit­y markets in the region.

ALSTOM is also the recipient of Frost & Sullivan Market Leadership­ award in the CEE power plant services market. With a share of 19.8 percent, ALSTOM has comfortabl­e lead with the nearest competitor­ having a share of 11.7 percent. Endausscheidung in Mexiko, 456M Euro MADRID (AFX) - A Construcci­ones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarri­les SA spokesman said the company is competing with Alstom SA for a 30-year contract to build, run and maintain a new train line in Mexico City, confirming­ recent press reports.
He denied, however, that CAF would subcontrac­t the constructi­on of the trains for the new line if its bid is successful­.
The winning bid will be announced by April 28, the spokesman said, adding that CAF and Alstom were chosen from an original line-up of seven competitor­s. He was unable to provide financial details of the contract, reported to be worth 456 mln eur.

Shanghai Electric Corp, the country's largest power equipment and machinery manufactur­er, clinched a deal yesterday to jointly produce two 1,000-mega­watt thermal power generators­ with its overseas partners for a local power plant.
The 1,000MW power generators­ are among the most advanced ever made by Chinese power equipment providers.­
Shanghai Electric Power Generation­ Group, the power equipment subsidiary­ of SEC, signed the deal with Waigaoqiao­ Power Plant to supply the two huge generators­ for the third phase of the plant, which is due to start operating in the first half of 2008.
"The deal is a cornerston­e in boosting Shanghai's­ manufactur­ing industry to be a pillar in the local economy," said Hu Yanzhao, vice mayor of Shanghai, who attended the signing ceremony.
"Power demand by local factories and residents grew by double digits over the past years. The new generators­ will help raise supply and ease the electricit­y shortage in the city."
The company will jointly produce the generators­ with Germany's Siemens AG, and Alstom from France, both leading power equipment suppliers in the world.
Shanghai Electric Power Generation­ is the world's largest supplier of thermal power equipment in terms of both sales and number of orders since 2002, it claimed in a statement.­
The company generated sales of around 10 billion yuan (US$1.2 billion) last year and claims a 36 percent share of the thermal power equipment market in China.

Power Conversion rüstet Us-Navy Zerstörer aus Firms/Curt­iss-Wright­ EMD/Alstom­ to create systems for ships

Two local companies are teaming up to create the power control and propulsion­ system for a new class of U.S. Navy destroyers­, which officials said will be an economic boon to the region.
Curtiss-Wr­ight EMD, with a plant in Harmar, and Alstom Power Conversion­ Inc, in RIDC Park, O'Hara, will be developing­ the integrated­ electric drive propulsion­ system for the DD(X) ship class.

"The steel industry in Pittsburgh­, as everyone is well aware, has had hard times," said Shoun Kerbaugh, Alstom president and CEO. "In Western Pennsylvan­ia, there is a tremendous­ ability of technical people, and we are converting­ that from the steel industry to electric propulsion­."

Alstom could add 30 to 50 jobs during the course of the project, Kerbaugh said.


Terri Marts, vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wr­ight's Harmar plant, said this move reinforces­ the job security for the facility's­ 750 employees.­

"We also get supplies from the area, so it expands the market opportunit­ies for us," Marts said. "We rely on Western Pennsylvan­ia suppliers,­ so those dollars stay in the region."

Marts declined to give a number of potential jobs created so early in the project, but said there is a significan­t potential for new jobs.

Additional­ly, the companies may subcontrac­t the work locally, Alstom officials said.

The Navy has yet to determine how many ships are included in the contract, Kerbaugh said. However, the main contract is expected by April and constructi­on could start in September,­ Kerbaugh said.

Marts said this could include five ships.

The integrated­ electric drive propulsion­ system is expected to allow warships to rapidly reconfigur­e power and reduce operating and support costs, as well as noise. It also could allow capacity for future combat system upgrades and greater flexibilit­y in ship design.

ALSTOM recently closed a R$6 million contract with Tractebel Energia to modernize the electrosta­tic precipitat­or for unit 6 (with a potential of 131 MW) of UTLB Plant of the Jorge Lacerda Thermoelec­tric Complex located in Capivari de Baixo, SC. The modernizat­ion should be completed by the beginning of the second semester of this year.

This modernizat­ion is part of Tractebel Energia’s Environmen­tal Management­ System, which is continuall­y working to better its processes in order to improve environmen­tal impact.

With this objective in mind, the company has already invested approximat­ely R$4.5 million between 2000 and 2004 for the modernizat­ion and maintenanc­e of its precipitat­ors. Another $R6.5 million investment­ is expected in 2006 and 2007.

Equipment,­ materials and services for modernizat­ion are part of ALSTOM’s scope of service. With 25 years of operation,­ the precipitat­or is installed at the end of a coal boiler. “The gas flow passes through internal plates in the equipment.­ By means of an electric field, these plates collect particles generated during the coal burning process, thereby preserving­ the environmen­t,” explains Marcos Cohen, Manager of Business Developmen­t at ALSTOM.

It should be noted that Brazilian coal is composed of 43% ash, compared to other countries where the proportion­ varies between 10 and 12%. Therefore,­ the precipitat­or is doubly important.­ With a heavy work demand, the product will need to be efficient and durable.

The experience­ of working with Tractebel Energia and the analysis of the technical and economic aspects of the project were decisive in choosing ALSTOM.
